AVN — Reflections
I have to be honest–today this porn world has struck a nerve. I feel somewhat numb to the porn that is all around me, but also a bit irritated. This irritation does not make me want to run for cover but shout louder — Jesus loves you. After listening to a porn producer outline why he thinks girls get into this business it only solidifies the mission of love. Girls have been wounded, abused, molested, abandoned, mistreated and in an effort to regain control of their lives have taken what was used against them and adopted it as their identity.
I can’t pretend to understand why when someone is abused they would then respond by freely giving their bodies to strangers, but it seems to be a common response. I know that not all the girls in this industry have this experience, but more stories than not relay this story. I feel like they all need a Dad. A protector. A shield to block all the abuse the world freely delivers.
I have a daughter. She is beautiful. When she sits on my lap I melt. I would freely give up my life for her. Each and every woman in this world deserves that same attention, devotion, protection, and love. Next time you are tempted to treat a woman as a porn star, an object for your selfish satisfaction, remember the responsibility and love you feel towards your child. God’s love is infinity more intense than any love we could offer and He is committed to reveal that love to everyone. This includes those the church will often count out–porn stars, prostitutes, druggies, pedophiles, dead beat dad’s, you, and me.
John 3:16-17, “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.”
